Top five places to visit in Chile
Hi! Today I'm gonna talk about five places in Chile that, in my opinion, you should visit someday.
1. Valparaíso. Located in the fifth region of Chile, Valparaíso offers a great view to the sea and to the hills, which are full of different types of houses, some of them big other small and painted with different colors. That gives a wonderful effect. Since I was a kid I've been visiting Valparaíso at least once a year because I have relatives living there and I've always enjoyed walking among the hills, visiting different stores and restaurants and also I like to visit "Plaza Sotomayor" which is also near to the port.
2. Viña del Mar. Also in the fifth region, Viña del Mar is a great coastal destination. The most remarkable are it's wonderful beaches because the sand is almost always clean and there's a lot of space for everyone. Close to the coast is the mall and the casino so you can easily spend a whole day and even the night in Viña del Mar without getting bored. Something negative about this place is that it's too tourist so it's always full of people, that's why this place it's not recommended if you are looking for peace and resting.
3. Coquimbo. I'll refer to the region in general because there's so many places that I enjoy there. One of them is "Playa la Herradura"; when I went to Coquimbo I stayed in a camping that was located at the beginning of this beach and I enjoyed walking it in the afternoons. Another place that I liked to visit was the mosque, a place of worship for followers of Islam. I know this culture because my brother, that has a different dad, has that offspring. Anyway, we entered and we had to take off our shoes and be very quiet because there was people praying; the architecture of the place, both external and internal, was so beautiful and ornamented and also the view because is in a hill. Finally, Valle del Elqui is another unmissable location. The valleys are beautiful but the main charm is in the night where you can see a thousand of stars in the sky; I never visited in the night but I hope to do it sometime.
4. Tarapacá. Located in the north of Chile is Tarapacá, which capital is Iquique. Even when there are so many activities to do in Iquique I think that the most beautiful places are out of the city; one of those places is "La Tirana", a town where is celebrated every year on July 16th one of the biggest religious feast of Chile. Close to this town is "Pica", a place that stood out for its beautiful thermal spas in the middle of the desert.
5. Licanray. I'm not gonna talk about too much about this place because I did in another post before but I need to mention for its enchanting landscapes and vegetation, also its weather is very comfortable because it's sunny during the day (but humid so isn't hot) and cloudy during mornings and afternoons. Even some weeks are totally rainy which makes you feel really connected with nature.
